Uticaj sorte na prorodevanje, rast stabla, prinos i fizičko-hemijske osobine ploda kajsije
Influence of cultivar on the precocity, tree growth, yield and physico-chemical traits of apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.)
Abstract
During three consecutive years (2008-2010) we studied precocity, tree vigor, yield and most important physical-chemical properties of the fruits of five apricot cultivars grafted on Myrobalan and grown on shallow, sandy-loam and acidic soil near Čačak. Cultivar per se (genotype) showed a strong influence on tree growth, yield, fruit size and flesh firmness, and its chemical composition. Evaluation of physical and chemical properties of the apricot fruit suggests that the cultivars have a great potential for various purposes. In fact, it seems that fruits of 'Roksana' and 'Harcot' are suitable for fresh consumption because of its large and attractive fruits, whereas fruits 'Aleksandar', 'Biljana' and 'Vera' apricots are suitable for processing due to its better chemical composition.
