Effect of Fertigation on Productivity of Apple Trees
Abstract
Over the 3-year period of study (2005-2007) the effects of fertigation on vegetative potential, fruit properties, and production of apple cultivars Idared and Wilmuta were investigated. Fertigation measures, mainly applied over the second part of growing season, when vegetative growth is brought to a close, had positive effect on these parameters. Cultivar Idared was more productive. Its fruits were larger and more ripe when fertigated in comparison with the control cultivar. Cultivar Wilmuta responded similarly to fertigation.
