AB  - What often happens that weeds are not controlled after harvesting
the cultivated crop. Thus, they continue to grow unhindered on agricultural
land, becoming dangerous hosts for a large number of plant diseases and
sources of constant infection. So far, there have been no systematic studies of
the mycopopulation of weed seeds in Serbia. In this paper, we present the
results of preliminary research. Weed seeds samples were collected during the
summer and autumn vegetation of 2023. Isolation was performed using
standard phytopathological methods. In these studies of the mycopopulation of
weed seeds, a total of 500 seeds originating from ten weed species were
examined. Seven genera of fungi were determined in this way: Penicillium,
Fusarium, Alternaria, Cladosporium, Epicoccum, Rhizopus and Mucor

Effects of a chitosan coating on the post-storage quality of plum fruit

AB  - The effects of a chitosan coating on the quality and storability of 'Stanley' plum fruit were investigated. Plum fruits were treated with a 1.0 % w/v chitosan coating and stored at 1 ± 1 °C under 90–95% relative humidity for 28 days, and, subsequently, held at 24 °C for four days to evaluate shelf life. Some basic physical and chemical quality indices (weight loss, fruit firmness, soluble solids content, pH, content of total sugars, inverted sugars, sucrose and acids) were evaluated after storage, and after four days of shelf life. Furthermore, the occurrence of pathogens in treated and control fruit was monitored. Weight loss was pronounced after cold storage and it almost doubled during shelf life in both groups of plums, and the results obtained show that the chitosan coating could not prevent shrivelling. Although, the chitosan-coated fruits showed higher firmness after cold storage and during shelf life (2.51 kg/cm2, and 1.75 kg/cm2, respectively) than the control fruits (2.28 kg/cm2, and 1.66 kg/cm2, respectively), the observed differences were not statistically significant. There was also no significant difference in chemical composition between treated and control fruits. However, the percentage of fruit infected with Monilinia spp. at the end of cold storage was slightly lower in the chitosan-coated fruit (2.00%) than in the untreated fruit (3.33%). The effectiveness of chitosan coating in maintaining plum quality during storage therefore remains questionable.
AB  - Raziskali smo vpliv prevleke iz hitozana na kakovost in sposobnost skladiščenja plodov sliv sorte 'Stanley'. Plodove sliv smo obdelali z 1,0 % m/v prevleko iz hitozana jih skladiščili pri 1 ± 1 °C pri 90–95 % relativni vlažnosti 28 dni, nato pa jih hranili pri 24 °C štiri dni, da bi ocenili rok uporabnosti. Nekatere osnovne fizikalno-kemijske kazalnike kakovosti (izguba mase, čvrstost plodov, vsebnost topne suhe snovi, pH, vsebnost skupnih sladkorjev, invertnih sladkorjev, saharoze in organskih kislin) smo izmerili po skladiščenju in po štirih dneh shranjevanja pri sobni temperaturi. Nadalje smo spremljali pojav patogenov pri tretiranih in kontrolnih plodovih. Izguba mase je bila po hladnem skladiščenju izrazita in se je med shranjevanjem pri sobni temperaturi pri obeh skupinah sliv skoraj podvojila, dobljeni rezultati pa kažejo, da obloga iz hitozana ni preprečila zgubanosti kožice. Čeprav so plodovi,prevlečeni s hitozanom, pokazali večjo trdoto po hladnem skladiščenju in med rokom trajanja (2,51 kg/cm2 oziroma 1,75 kg/cm2) kot kontrolni plodovi (2,28 kg/cm2 oziroma 1,66 kg/cm2), opažene razlike niso bile statistično značilne. Prav tako ni bilo pomembne razlike v kemični sestavi med tretiranimi in kontrolnimi plodovi. Vendar pa je odstotek plodov, okuženih z Monilinia spp. ob koncu skladiščenja nekoliko manjši pri plodovih, obloženih s hitozanom (2,00 %) kot pri netretiranih plodovih (3,33 %). Učinkovitost premaza s hitozanom pri ohranjanju kakovosti sliv med skladiščenjem ostaja torej vprašljiva.

AB  - Grapevine, a significant fruit crop globally, is a host of various
viruses that negatively affect yield, plant vigor, and fruit quality. Multiplex
polymerase chain reaction (mPCR) offers the ability to detect numerous viruses
simultaneously. Our study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mRT-PCR for
the detection of nine grapevine viruses in Serbia, including: grapevine fanleaf
virus, grapevine leafroll-associated viruses 1, 2, and 3, grapevine rupestris stem
pitting associated virus, grapevine virus A, grapevine virus B, grapevine fleck
virus, and arabis mosaic virus. This study confirms mRT-PCR as an efficient
method for simultaneous detection of multiple grapevine viruses

Korovska flora u mladim zasadima maline – Rubus spp. (Rosaceae, Rosales) na teritoriji sela Osreci-Kopaonik

AB  - Malina (Rubus spp.) duži niz godina spada u grupu ekonomski najznačajnijih vrsta
voća u Republici Srbiji. Međutim, jedan od najvećih problema u proizvodnje ove kulture je kontrola zakorovljenosti. Naročito je veliki izazov u tek zasnovanim zasadima maline. Korovi se u prvoj godini u međurednom i rednom prostoru u malinjacima isključivo eliminišu mehaničkim putem (Leposavić, 2023). Smanjenje zakorovljenosti uopšteno se postiže primenom preventivnih i agrotehnikih mera, primenom plodoreda, pravilnim izborom vrsta i sorti dr. Pored toga, poznavanje bioloških i ekoloških karakteristika, potom fiziologije korovskih vrsta čini polaznu osnovu u borbi protiv korova u mladim zasadima maline. Na osnovu boljeg razumevanja odnosa između korova i gajene biljke moguće je odrediti vreme i odgovarajući način suzbijanja korova. Cilj ovog rada je da se ukaže na diverzitet korovske flore u mladim zasadima maline
(Rubus spp.), budući da je dobro poznavanje taksonomskih kao i drugih bioloških karakteristika korova, osnovni preduslov za uspešno sprovođnje integralnih mera suzbijanja korova u konvencionalnoj i organskoj biljnoj proizvodnji. Floristika istraživanja obavljena su tokom vegetacionog peroda 2022. i 2023. godine u mladim zasadima maline (starosti prve do druge godine) sela Osreci-Kopaonik. Determinacija biljaka i pripadnost familijama data je prema Josifović-u (1971-1977), a pripadnost klasama prema Takhtajan-u (1997), dok je ekološka analiza korovske flore izvršena prema Kojić i sar. (1997). U mladim zasadima maline u selu Osreci zabelećeno je prisustvo ukupno 26 korovskih
vrsta (7 korovskih (segetalnih), 13 korovsko-ruderalnih, 1 ruderalna i 5 korova livada i pašnjaka). Većina konstatovanih korova cveta od juna do septembara. U konstatovanoj korovskoj flori dominiraju predstavnici klase Magnoliopsida (dikotile, širokolisni korovi) i to 24 vrste, dok su iz klase Liliopsida (monokotile, uskolisni korovi), prisutne samo dve vrste. Analiza životnih formi korova u zasadima maline pokazuje blagu dominaciju hemikriptofita (38,46%) u odnosu na geofite (30,77%) i terofite (26,92%). Zakorovljenost nije bila velika, jer je svakih dest do petnaest dana vršeno međuredno kultiviranje, a u redovima, oko biljaka, su ručno odstranjivani korovi. Bez obzira na mehaničko odstranjivanje korova diverzitet korovske flore nije bio zanemarljiv. U svim posmatranim mladim zasadima maline najučestaliji korovi su: Salvia verticillata L., Lathyrus latifolius L., Cirsium arvense (L.) Scop., Equisetum arvense L., Pteridium aquilinum (L.) Kuhn., Bilderdykia convolvulus (L.) Dum., Convolvulus arvensis L., Chenopodium album L.

AB  - Višegodišnja lucerka (Medicago sativa L.) se u prirodi javlјa kao gajena i kao divlјa
vrsta. Kao jedna od najstarijih i najvažnijih višegodišnjih krmnih bilјaka, lucerka ima potencijal da daje visok prinos krme odličnog kvaliteta. Relativno niski prinosi i kvalitet lucerke u Srbiji posledica su uticaja velikog broja
faktora među kojima biljni patogeni zauzimaju značajno mesto. U ovom radu su prikazani preliminarni rezultati proučavanja populacije fitopatogenih
gljiva na lucerki. Ukupno 625 uzoraka biljaka lucerke je prikupljeno periodu 2002. - 2019. godine u Srbiji sa lokaliteta: Čurug, Ašanja, Srpska Crnja, Farkaždin, Trnavci, Vraneši, Banatsko Karađorđevo, Aleksandrovo, Banovci, Markovac, Varvarin, Kobilje, Globoder, Bela Voda, Kloka, Davidovac i Dobričevo. Cele biljke su vizuelno pregledane radi detaljnog opisa simptoma oboljenja nakon čega je urađena standardna fitopatološka izolacija sa prelaza zdravog u obolelo tkivo na krompir dekstrozni agar (KDA) sa streptomicinom. Nakon inkubacije na 22°C i svetlosnom režimu 12 sati dan/12 sati noć, dobijene kulture su mikroskopski pregledane i izvršena je morfološka indentifikacija gljiva do nivoa roda pomoću standardnih ključeva. Provera patogenosti dobijenih izolata urađena je putem veštačke inokulacije sa
povredom biljnih delova. Biljke su inokulisane postavljanjem fragmenata micelije sa podlogom u povrede napravljene kopljastom iglom. Inokulacija je obavljena izolatima gljiva, starosti 7 dana, a inokulisane biljke su čuvane na temperaturi od 20 do 25°C. Rezultati rada su pokazali da su tipovi simptoma oboljenja na biljkama lucerke
dominantno prouzrokovani sledećim fitopatogenim gljivama: 1. Fusarium spp. (nekrotične pege i lezije na stablu lucerke); 2. Sclerotinia spp. (trulež prizemnog dela stabla); 3. Phoma spp. (pegavost stabla praćena pojavom piknida u okviru pege); 4. Colletotrichum spp. (nekroza i povijanje vrhova stabljike); 5. Fusarium spp. i Rhizoctonia spp. (nekroza korenovog sistema); 6. Verticillium spp. (obezbojavanje sprovodnog tkiva). Na osnovu morfoloških i patogenih odlika dobijenih izolata utvrđeno je da su u
Srbiji na lucerki dominantni prouzrokovači oboljenja iz grupe fitopatogenih gljiva pripadnici roda Colletotrichum, potom gljive iz rodova Fusarium, Verticillium, Rhizoctonia, Sclerotinia i Phoma.
Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da je lucerka podložna napadu velikog broja fitopatogenih
gljiva koje mogu značajno da utiču na smanjenje prinosa i kvaliteta. Kako prouzrokovači oboljenja na lucerki nisu dovoljno proučavani u Srbiji, sprovedena
istraživanja predstavljaju značajan doprinos definisanju uloge fitopatogenih gljiva u simptomima koje prouzrokuju na lucerki, a sve u cilju doprinosa iznalaženju adekvatnih mera za njihovo uspešno suzbijanje.

Cultivating organic American highbush blueberries with retorted beech charcoal (RBC)

AB  - The research conducted in this study aimed to investigate the impact of retorted beech charcoal on the shoot number and length of the highbush blueberry cultivar ‘Duke’. The experimental trial was established using randomized block system, consisting of three treatments and a control group. The control plants were potted in plastic containers filled with a mixture of sawdust and a substrate designed for commercial blueberry growing by Klasman. The plants in the treatment groups were potted similarly but with the addition of retorted beech charcoal in the root zone and around the root neck. Three different quantities of charcoal were used: 150 g (T1), 100 g (T2) and 50 g (T3). The number and length of shoots were monitored over the two-year period. The results indicated a positive influence of retorted beech charcoal on the number and length of shoots. Specifically, the plants in the treatment groups exhibited longer and more numerous shoots compared to the control group. Furthermore, the results varied depending on the quantity of retorted beech charcoal applied. The treatment with 150 g of retorted beech charcoal recorded the highest average length and number of shoots. Additionally, in both the treatment and control groups, a greater number and length of shoots were observed in the second year of the study.
AB  - Istraživanja obuhvaćena ovim radom sprovedena su u cilju proučavanja uticaja primene retortnog bukovog uglja na broj i dužinu jednogodišnjih prirasta kod biljaka visokožbunaste borovnice sorte Duke. Eksperimentalni ogled bio je postavljen po dizajnu slučajnog blok sistema i uključivao je tri tretmana i kontrolu. Biljke koje su poslužile kao kontola zasađene su u plastične saksije napunjene mešavinom strugotine i komercijalnog supstrata za gajenje borovnice čiji proizvođač Klasman. Biljke iz tretmana su posađene na isti način ali uz dodatak retortnog bukovog uglja u zoni korena i korenovog vrata biljaka u količini od 150 g (T1), 100 g (T2) i 50 g (T3). Broj i dužina jednogodišnjih prirasta praćeni su tokom dve godine. Dobijeni rezultati su pokazali da retortni bukov ugalj pozitivno utiče na broj i dužinu jednogodišnjih prirasta. Naime, biljke u tretmanu su imale veću dužinu i broj jednogodišnjih prirasta u odnosu na kontrolne biljke. Utvrđene su i razlike u dobijenim rezultatima u zavisnosti od primenjene količine retortnog bukovog uglja. Najveća prosečna dužina i broj jednogodišnjih prirasta zabeleženi su u tretmanu sa 150 g retortnog bukovog uglja. Veći broj i veća dužina jednogodišnjih prirasta u svim tretmanima i kontroli zabeleženi su u drugoj godini proučavanja.

AB  - Analizom korovske flore u mladim zasadima maline u selu Osreci zabeleženo je prisustvo ukupno 26 korovskih vrsta [7 korovskih (segetalnih), 13 korovsko-ruderalnih, 1 ruderalna i 5 korova livada i pašnjaka]. Većina evidentiranih korova cvetala je od juna do septembra. U konstatovanoj korovskoj flori dominirali su predstavnici klase Magnoliopsida (dikotile, širokolisni korovi) i to 24 vrste, dok su iz klase Liliopsida (monokotile, uskolisni korovi), bile prisutne samo dve vrste. Analiza životnih formi korova u zasadima maline pokazala je blagu dominaciju hemikriptofita (38,46%) u odnosu na geofite (30,77%) i terofite (26,92%). Zakorovljenost nije bila velika, jer je na svakih deset do petnaest dana vršeno međuredno kultiviranje, a u redovima, oko biljaka, su ručno odstranjivani korovi. AB  - The analysis of the weed flora in the young raspberry plantations in the village of Osreci revealed the presence of a total of 26 weed species [7 weed (segetal), 13 weed-ruderal, 1 ruderal and 5 weeds of meadows and pastures]. The most of the identified weeds flowered from June to September. The recorded weed flora is dominated by representatives of the class Magnoliopsida (dicotyledons, broad-leaved weeds) with 24 species, while only two species are present from the class Liliopsida (monocotyledons, narrow-leaved weeds). The analysis of weed life forms in raspberry plantations shows a slight dominance of hemicryptophytes (38.46%) compared to geophytes (30.77%) and therophytes (26.92%). The number of weeds was not high, because inter-row cultivation was done every ten to fifteen days, and weeds were manually removed in the rows, around the plants. Regardless of the mechanical removal of weeds, the diversity of the weed flora was not negligible. In all observed young raspberry plantations, the most frequent weeds are: Salvia verticillata L., Lathyrus latifolius L., Cirsium arvense (L.) Scop., Equisetum arvense L., Pteridium aquilinum (L.) Kuhn., Polygonum convolvulus L., Convolvulus arvensis L., Chenopodium album L.

AB  - The species Eutypa lata is one of the most critical phytopathogenic fungi that presents a threat to vineyards by causing significant economic damage. This grapevine disease is hazardous because there is no adequate chemical protection, so after its progression, there is a decrease in yield and dieback of parts or whole infected shoots. There are also no grapevine cultivars resistant to this disease. For these reasons, in this paper, testing of the susceptibility of a pair of grapevine cultivars to this disease was carried out. The testing was performed under semicontrolled conditions and included six of the most economically essential grapevine cultivars in Serbia (Riesling italico, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cardinal, Rkaziteli, Pinot noir, and Prokupac). Testing was performed using 14 isolates of E. lata isolated in Serbia and two control isolates obtained from the INRA. For specific detection of isolates of Eutypa spp. included in the experiment, a specific pair of primers, Lata 1/ Lata 2.2, was applied, and an amplicon of the expected size of approximately 385 bp was established in all isolates. In the conditions of the set experiment, of all of the domestic and foreign-tested grapevine cultivars, the local cultivar Prokupac showed greater resistance to the isolates. In contrast, the cultivars Riesling italico, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cardinal, Pinot noir showed sensitivity to the isolates of E. lata, but not to the same extent as the cultivar Rkaziteli, which proved to be susceptible.

AB  - The potential influence of different types of light on the growth and sporulation
of Eutypa lata isolates was assessed, and detection at the molecular level was
also performed. By applying in vitro observations, the influence of different
types of light was monitored, (24 h exposure to UV light; alternating 12 h UV
and 12 h darkness; alternating 12 h artificial fluorescent light and 12 h darkness),
on the radial growth and sporulation of the anamorphic stage of three isolates
of Eutypa lata fungus (EL117, EL153 and EL199) by comparison with two
reference isolates of Eutypa lata, BX1.10 and 8F, obtained from the INRA,
France. After the molecular detection using of the specific primer pair Lata 1/
Lata 2.2, all the studied isolates were found to belong to the species Eutypa
lata (syn. Eutypa armeniacae), anamorph Libertella blepharis. It was also
found that the most suitable type of light for radial growth and sporulation of
the studied isolates is exposure to 24 h UV light for 30 days.
AB  - U ovom radu je proučavan jedan od uzročnika odumiranja čokota vinove
loze gljiva Eutypa lata. Praćen je uticaj različitih tipova svetlosti na porast
i sporulaciju izolata Eutipa lata, a izvršena je i detekcija na molekularnom
nivou. Naime, u in vitro uslovima praćen je uticaj različitih tipova svetlosti
(24 h izlaganje uticaju UV svetla (UV); alternativno, 12 h UV i 12 h tama
(UV-T); alternativno, 12 h veštačko fluorescentno svetlo i 12 h tama (ST)) na radijalni porast i sporulaciju anamorfnog stadijuma tri izolata gljive
Eutypa lata (EL117, EL153 and EL199) upoređivanjem sa dva referentna
izolata Eutypa lata BX1.10 i 8F dobijenih sa Institute National de la
Recherche Agronomique, INRA, France. Takođe je urađena detekcija izolata
na molekularnom nivou primenom specifičnog para prajmera Lata 1/Lata
2.2. Nakon sprovedene molekularne detekcije, utvrđeno je da svi proučavani
izolati pripadaju vrsti Eutypa lata (syn. Eutypa armeniacae), anamorf
Libertella blepharis. Takođe je ustanovljeno da je najpogodniji tip svetlosti
za radijalni porast i sporulaciju, proučavanih izolata izlaganje, 24 h UV svetlu

AB  - In a multi-year experiment set up in vitro, virulence testing was conducted on 14 isolates of Eutypa lata (EL17, EL27, EL29, EL30, EL150, EL151, EL152, EL153, EL154, EL155, EL156, EL157, EL158, EL199) and two reference isolates BX1.10 and 8F obtained from the Institute National de la Recherche Agronomique, INRA, France, previously confirmend on morphological and molecular level. Namely, inoculation of unrootedand rooted grapevine plants of the Cabernet Sauvignon cultivar was performed in two separate experiments. After reading the results in both experiments, all studied isolates showed virulence to varying degrees towards inoculated cuttings of the Cabernet Sauvignon cultivar. All tested isolates showed pathogenicity to Cabernet Sauvignon to a high degree, also different isolates in both experiments showed different degrees of aggressiveness to the tested grapevine cultivar. The analysis of the obtained results shows that the final outcome of both experiments is identical. In both experiments the isolates EL150, EL152, BX1.10, EL156, EL27, EL151 EL154 and 8F proved to be the most aggressive. Based on the obtained results, we can conclude that both methods are suitable and reliable for testing pathogenicity od different grapevine cultivars to the fungus E. lata.
AB  - В многогодишен експеримент, заложен in vitro, е изследвана вирулентността на 14 изолата на Eutypa lata (EL17, EL27, EL29, EL30, EL150, EL151, EL152, EL153, EL154, EL155, EL159, EL159) и два референтни изолата BX1.10 и 8F, получени от Institute National de la Recherche Agronomique, INRA, Франция, предварително потвърдени на морфологично и молекулярно ниво. А именно, инокулацията на невкоренени и вкоренени лозови растения от сорта Каберне Совиньон е извършена в два отделни опита. След отчитане на резултатите и в двата експеримента, всички изследвани изолати показаха вирулентност в различна степен спрямо инокулираните резници от сорт Каберне Совиньон. Всички изследвани изолати показват висока степен на патогенност при сорт Каберне Совиньон. Освен това, различните изолати в двата експеримента показват различна степен на агресивност спрямо изследвания сорт лоза. Анализът на получените резултати показва, че крайният резултат и от двата експеримента е идентичен. И в двата експеримента, най-агресивни се оказват изолати EL150, EL152, BX1.10, EL156, EL27, EL151 EL154 и 8F. Въз основа на получените резултати, може да се направи заключение, че и двата метода са подходящи и надеждни за изследване на патогенността на различни лозови сортове спрямо гъбички E. lata.

Neopestalotiopsis clavispora: a causal agent of twig dieback on highbush blueberries in Serbia

AB  - Highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) is becoming an important berry fruit in Serbian agriculture, and the areas under blueberries are rapidly expanding. Since 2011, blueberry bushes with the symptoms of twig dieback and shoot canker were noticed in four important producing regions in the country. To identify the causal agent, 40 symptomatic bushes from four districts were sampled and analyzed. Based on morphological characteristics, all analyzed isolates were preliminary identified as Neopestalotiopsis clavispora. Selected isolates were further characterized by sequence analysis of the rDNA internal transcribed spacer region, translation elongation factor 1-alpha, and beta-tubulin (TUB). Sequence and phylogenetic analysis confirmed that all isolates belong to N. clavispora. The pathogenicity tests on blueberry 'Elliot' confirmed that tested isolates were pathogenic. The detection of N. clavispora, a causal agent of twig dieback on blueberries in Serbia, is the first report of this pathogen in the country.

abstract = "Highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) is becoming an important berry fruit in Serbian agriculture, and the areas under blueberries are rapidly expanding. Since 2011, blueberry bushes with the symptoms of twig dieback and shoot canker were noticed in four important producing regions in the country. To identify the causal agent, 40 symptomatic bushes from four districts were sampled and analyzed. Based on morphological characteristics, all analyzed isolates were preliminary identified as Neopestalotiopsis clavispora. Selected isolates were further characterized by sequence analysis of the rDNA internal transcribed spacer region, translation elongation factor 1-alpha, and beta-tubulin (TUB). Sequence and phylogenetic analysis confirmed that all isolates belong to N. clavispora. The pathogenicity tests on blueberry 'Elliot' confirmed that tested isolates were pathogenic. The detection of N. clavispora, a causal agent of twig dieback on blueberries in Serbia, is the first report of this pathogen in the country.",

In vitro screening of antagonistic activity of microorganisms against anthracnose disease

AB  - Anthracnose disease can be successfully controlled by chemical pesticides in conventional fruit growing. However, in organic farming, in order to maintain environmental safety and fulfill consumer demand for pesticide-free food, the control of this disease is a major problem. The use of biocontrol agents with the antagonistic mechanism of control of many phytopathogens is an innovative alternative for cost-effective and eco-friendly production. The antagonistic activities of Trichoderma viride and Bacillus subtilis were tested in vitro against Colletotrichum acutatum, one of major plant pathogens responsible for anthracnose. The microbial antagonists inhibited mycelial growth in the dual culture. T. viride exhibited strong antagonism against C. acutatum isolates (80%). The B. subtilis isolate also had a strong effect on inhibiting the development of C. acutatum (37.5%). The results of this study identified T. viride and B. subtilis as promising biological control agents for further testing against anthracnose disease in fruits.
AB  - U konvencionalnoj voćarskoj proizvodnji antraknoza se može uspešno kontrolisati korišćenjem hemijskih pesticida. Međutim, u cilju očuvanja životne sredine i zadovoljavanja rastućih potreba potrošača za zdravstveno bezbednom hranom, kontrola ove bolesti predstavlja jedan od većih problema u organskoj poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji. Upotreba bioloških sredstava koja se odlikuju antagonističkim mehanizmom dejstva protiv velikog broja biljnih patogena predstavlja inovativnu alternativu za ekonomičnu i ekološki prihvatljivu voćarsku proizvodnju. U radu su prikazani rezultati in vitro ispitivanja antagonističkih svojstava sojeva Trichoderma viride i Bacillus subtilis u borbi protiv jednog od najznačajnijih prouzrokovača antraknoze biljaka - Colletotrichum acutatum. Mikrobni antagonisti su inhibirali rast micelija u dualnoj kulturi. T. viride je ispoljila snažan antagonizam u odnosu na izolat C. acutatum (80%). Izolat B. subtilis takođe je imao snažan efekat na inhibiciju razvoja C. acutatum (37,5%). Rezultati ove studije pokazali su da sojevi T. viride i B. subtilis predstavljaju obećavajuće biološke agense pogodne za dalja ispitivanja u borbi protiv antraknoze u plodovima.

Uticaj načina gajenja na prinos i kvalitet plodova visokožbunaste borovnice

AB  - Poslednjih godina povećava se interes proizvođača jagodastog voća iz Srbije za podizanje zasada visokožbunaste borovnice. Prvi uspešni koraci u tom cilju su napravljeni u opštini Arilje kada je na prostoru ove opštine posađeno 10 hektara ove voćne vrste. Najzastupljeniji način proizvodnje borovnice kod nas u prethodnim godinama bio je gajenje u zemljištu ili prethodno pripremljenom suspstratu, na bankovima, sa ili bez zastiranja folijom ili agrotekstilom. Poslednjih godina sve više je zastupljen i saksijski način gajenja ovog voća. Saksijski način gajenja najviše je zastupljen u slučajevima kada vlasnik ili investitor ne poseduje dovoljne zemljišne površine ili je ono suviše nepovoljnog mehaničkog sastava.
U radu su prikazani dvogodišnji rezultati (2020. i 2021. godina) ispitivanja prinosa i važnijih pokazatelja kvaliteta ploda sorte Duke iste starosti, gajene na bankovima i u saksijama na lokalitetima sela Ljutovnica kod Gornjeg Milanovca, Nikšić kod Kragujevca, Slatine kod Čačka i u okolini Belanovice.    
Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju da je borovnica gajena u saksijama imala veću početnu rodnost u odnosu na onu gajenu na bankovima. Već od treće godine kod borovnica gajenih na bankovima zabeležen je veći prinos po žbunu (2626,53 g prema 2029,62 g) i krupniji plodovi (1,81 g prema 1,69 g), kao i veći sadržaj osnovnih pokazatelja hemijskog sastava i bolje organoleptičke karakteristike plodova. Razlike u prinosu i kvalitetu plodova u korist borovnice gajene na bankovima bile su posebno izražene u godini sa visokim temperaturama tokom perioda berbe.
AB  - In recent years, there has been an increasing interest of Serbian berry fruit growers in establishing high-bush blueberry plantation. The first successful steps to that aim have been made in the Municipality Arilje when 10 hectares of this fruit species were planted. The most common production method of blueberry production in previous years in Serbia was growing blueberry in soils or formerly prepared substrate, in raised beds with or without foil or agrotextile covering.  In past years, growing of this fruit species in containers has ever been present. Container growing method is most common in cases where owner or investor owns insufficient land or it is of too unfavourable mechanical composition. 
The paper present the two-year results (2020-2021) of examining yields and more significant quality indicators of the fruit of cv Duke of the same age, grown in raised beds or containers in the villages of Ljutovnica near Gornji Milanovac, Nikšić near Kragujevac and Slatina in the vicinity of Belanovica. 
The research results show that blueberry grown in containers had higher initial yield compared to those grown in raised beds. From the third year, in blueberries grown in raised beds, a higher yield per bush (2626,53 g compared to 2029,62 g) and larger fruits (1,81 g compared to 1,69 g) were noted as well as higher content of the basic indicators of chemical composition and better organoleptic fruit characteristics. Differences in yield and quality of fruits in favour of the blueberry grown in raised beds were especially pronounced in the year of high temperatures during the harvest period.

Parametri kvaliteta genotipa vinove loze pod nazivom Jagoda iz Srbije

AB  - U istraživanju sprovedenom u periodu 2020–2021. Godine ispitivanje genotipa vinove loze pod nazivom jagoda na lokaciji Donje Zleginje - Aleksandrovac, Srbija. Ovaj genotip vinove loze je registrovan 2018. godine u OIV bazu podataka, nije detalјnije proučavana. Na površini od 2 ha na lokaciji Donje Zleginje, praćeni su parametri kvaliteta sorte jagoda. Veličina grozda i dužina petelјke grozda proučavane su u vreme berbe grožđa 05.09.20., odnosno 04.09.21. Korišćena je srednja vrednost svih grozdova sa 10 lastara. Za tačnije određivanje veličine grozda merena je dužina i širina grozda bez petelјke, a dužina petelјke merena je do prvog grananja grozda. Morfološke osobine bobice utvrđene su vizuelno u vreme berbe grožđa na uzorku od 100 bobica uzetih sa 10 grozdova. U periodu berbe grožđa, merenjem mase grozdova utvrđen je prinos grožđa (kg) i broj grozdova po čokotu. Kvalitet grožđa utvrđen je pomoću sadržaja šećera (%) u širi odmah nakon berbe grožđa. Prosečna masa grozda bila je 227,9 g u prvoj godini a u drugoj 363,5 g. Prosečna dužina i širina grozda u prvoj godini bila je 14,2 x 12,9 cm, dok je u drugoj godini bila 18,8 x 14,45 cm. Prosečna dužina petelјke u prvoj godini bilaje 2,5 cm odnosno 3,1 cm. Prinos po čokotu bio je 3,24 kg, odnosno 4,10 kg. Prosečan broj grozdova po čokotu u prvoj godini bio je 20, odnosno u drugoj godini 19. Prosečan sadržaj šećera u prvoj godini bio je 17,50 %, a u drugoj godini 21,60 %. Ova proučavanja mogu da imaju značajnu ulogu u širenju genotipa Jagoda u Srbiji i veću primenu u proizvodnji belih vina. Takođe ova autohtona sorta može poslužiti kao izvor genetičkog materijala za stvaranje novih sorti.
AB  - In research conducted in the period 2020-2021. the genotype of the grapevine called ‘Jagoda’ at the location of Donje Zleginje, Aleksandrovac, Serbia was examined. This grapevine genotype was registered in 2018 in the OIV database, it has not been studied in detail. The quality parameters of the ‘Jagoda’ genotype were monitored on the area of 2 ha at the location of Donje Zleginje. The size of the bunch and the length of the petiole of the bunch were determined at the time of grape harvest 05.09.20., ie 04.09.21. The mean value of clusters with 10 shoots was used. To more accurately determine the size of the bunch, the length and width of the bunch without the petiole were measured, and the length of the petiole was measured until the first branch of the bunch. All morphological characteristics of the berry were determined visually at the time of grape harvest on a sample of 100 berries taken from 10 bunches. In the period of grape harvest, by measuring the mass of all grapes, the yield of grapes (kg) and the number of grapes per grapevine were determined. The quality of grapes was determined through the content of sugar (%) in the must immediately after grape harvest. The average weight of the bunch was 227,9 g in the first year and 363,5 g in the second year. The average length and width of the cluster in the first year was 14,2 x 12,9 cm, while in the second year it was 18,8 x 14,45 cm. The average length of the petiole in the first year was 2,5 cm and 3,1 cm, respectively. The yield per grapevine was 3,24 kg and 4,10 kg, respectively. The average number of bunches per grapevine in the first year was 20, and in the second year 19. The average content of sugar in the first year was 17,50%, and in the second year 21, 60%. These studies can play a significant role in the spread of the ‘Jagoda’ genotype in Serbia and greater application in the production of white wines. Also, this indigenous genotype can serve as a source of genetic material for the creation of new genotypes.

U periodu berbe grožđa, merenjem mase grozdova utvrđen je prinos grožđa (kg) i broj grozdova po čokotu. Kvalitet grožđa utvrđen je pomoću sadržaja šećera (%) u širi odmah nakon berbe grožđa. Prosečna masa grozda bila je 227,9 g u prvoj godini a u drugoj 363,5 g. Prosečna dužina i širina grozda u prvoj godini bila je 14,2 x 12,9 cm, dok je u drugoj godini bila 18,8 x 14,45 cm. Prosečna dužina petelјke u prvoj godini bilaje 2,5 cm odnosno 3,1 cm. Prinos po čokotu bio je 3,24 kg, odnosno 4,10 kg. Prosečan broj grozdova po čokotu u prvoj godini bio je 20, odnosno u drugoj godini 19. Prosečan sadržaj šećera u prvoj godini bio je 17,50 %, a u drugoj godini 21,60 %. Ova proučavanja mogu da imaju značajnu ulogu u širenju genotipa Jagoda u Srbiji i veću primenu u proizvodnji belih vina. Takođe ova autohtona sorta može poslužiti kao izvor genetičkog materijala za stvaranje novih sorti., In research conducted in the period 2020-2021. the genotype of the grapevine called ‘Jagoda’ at the location of Donje Zleginje, Aleksandrovac, Serbia was examined. This grapevine genotype was registered in 2018 in the OIV database, it has not been studied in detail. The quality parameters of the ‘Jagoda’ genotype were monitored on the area of 2 ha at the location of Donje Zleginje. The size of the bunch and the length of the petiole of the bunch were determined at the time of grape harvest 05.09.20., ie 04.09.21. The mean value of clusters with 10 shoots was used. To more accurately determine the size of the bunch, the length and width of the bunch without the petiole were measured, and the length of the petiole was measured until the first branch of the bunch. All morphological characteristics of the berry were determined visually at the time of grape harvest on a sample of 100 berries taken from 10 bunches. In the period of grape harvest, by measuring the mass of all grapes, the yield of grapes (kg) and the number of grapes per grapevine were determined. The quality of grapes was determined through the content of sugar (%) in the must immediately after grape harvest. AB  - Borovnica (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) predstavlja značajnu jagodastu vrstu voćaka čija
se proizvodnja u Srbiji poslednjih godina sve više povećava. Problem u proizvodnji borovnice
predstavljaju brojne bolesti o kojima u našoj zemlji ima još uvek malo podataka.
Neopestalotiopsis clavispora je u svetu opisana kao značajan prouzrokovač sušenja drveta
borovnice.
Tokom 2011, 2016, 2017. i 2020. godine pregledani su trogodišnji i četvorogodišnji
proizvodni zasadi borovnice na četiri lokaliteta u Srbiji (Belanovica, Slatina, Šid i Bačka
Topola). Uočeni su simptomi žutila i nekroze listova i sušenja biljaka. Incidenca pojave
simptoma bila je od 5 do 10%. Prikupljeni su uzorci, iz kojih je primenom konvencionalnih
metoda dobijeno više od 40 izolata koji su na PDA podlozi formirali uniformne bele kolonije
sa porastom tipa cveta ruže i prisustvom brojnih crnih acervula. Konidije su bile petoćelijske
sa središnjim ćelijama tamnije boje dimenzija 16,77–29,70 × 5,33–8,80 μm (N=30) i dva
izraštaja na vrhu,. Na osnovu morfoloških osobina preliminarno je utvrđeno da radi o vrsti
roda Neopestalotiopsis. Sa svakog lokaliteta i iz svake godine odabran je po jedan izolat za
dalja istraživanja. Patogenost odabranih izolata potvrđena je veštačkim inokulacijama sadnica
borovnice. Identifikacija odabranih izolata (728-11, 328-16, 422-17, RS-PC-67, RS-PC-69, RSPC-
74) potvrđena je sekvenciranjem ITS regiona rDNA (Internal transcribed spacer),
korišćenjem para prajmera ITS1F/ITS4, ispitivanih izolata. Blast analiza dobijenih sekvenci
(Genbank Acc. Nos. OK169617, OK166668, OK165500, MZ090098, MZ090099, MZ090100)
pokazala je 99–100% sličnosti sa vrstom N. clavispora poreklom iz različitih biljaka domaćina
i različitih delova sveta deponovanih u GenBank bazi podataka. Identifikacija odbranih izolata
potvrđena je sekvenciranjem tef1α regiona (Translation elongation factor 1-alpha) (prajmeri
EF1-728F/EF-2) (Acc. Nos. OK302926, OK302924, OK302925, MZ097377, MZ097378,
MZ097379) i dela gena za β-tublin (prajmeri T1/Bt2b) (Acc. Nos. OK148438, OK148436,
OK148437, MZ097380, MZ097381, MZ097382).
U ovom radu prvi put je na morfološkom i molekularnom nivou okarakterisan
Neopestalotiopsis clavispora kao prouzrokovač sušenja drveta borovnice u Srbiji.

Detekcija i molekularna karakterizacija grapevine Pinot gris virus u vinogradima Srbije

AB  - Grapevine Pinot gris virus (GPGV), član roda Trichovirus, familije Betaflexviridae je
otkriven 2012. godine na sorti grožđa Burgundac sivi (’Pinot Gris’) u Italiji, a nakon toga je
potvrđen u brojnim zemljama širom sveta. Kod osetljivih sorti vinove loze izaziva deformacije
i hlorotično šarenilo lišća, skraćenje internodija lastara i kržljavost. Kod čokota sa izraženim
simptomima prinos može biti umanjen i do 85%. Vektor virusa je eriofidna grinja Colomerus
vitis. Prisustvo GPGV u Srbiji je prvi put potvrđeno 2015. godine u samo jednom uzorku
vinove loze.
U cilju ispitivanja prisustva GPGV u vinogradima Rasinskog okruga u periodu
2020−2022. godine sakupljeno je i analizirano 65 uzoraka vinove loze. Detekcija je urađena
metodom reverzne transkripcije i lančane reakcije polimeraze (RT-PCR). Ekstrakcija ukupnih
nukleinskih kiselina iz uzoraka lišća urađena je sa 2% CTAB puferom. Za reverznu
transkripciju korišćeni su pd(N)6 random prajmeri, dok je PCR urađen sa dva seta GPGVspecifičnih
prajmera (GPGVRepF/GPGVRepR i GPGVDetF/GPGVDetR) koji umnožavaju
fragmente od 525 bp i 585 bp u okviru RdRp i MP/CP gena. Dobijeni PCR proizvodi su
analizirani elektroforezom u 1,5% agaroznom gelu i bojenjem etidijum-bromidom.
U 14 ispitivanih uzoraka vinove loze sorti ’Red Globe’, ’Victoria’ i ’Preobraženje’, sa
simptomima kržljavih lastara sa skraćenim internodijama, deformisanih i hlorotičnih listova
potvrđeno je prisustvo GPGV. Virus nije potvrđen u uzorcima bez simptoma. Umnoženi PCR
fragmenti osam odabranih izolata su prečišćeni i sekvencirani (Macrogen, Holandija).
Dobijene sekvence su pokazale 97,3−100% nukleotidne identičnosti (RdRp gen), odnosno
97,6−100% (MP/CP gen). Sekvence su deponovane u GenBank (Acc. No.
OP279698−OP279713). BLAST analiza sekvenci RdRp gena je pokazala najviši stepen
nukleotidne identičnosti (99,62%) srpskih izolata GPGV sa izolatima iz Španije, Švajcarske i
Slovačke (KY404083, ON237610 i KF134125), dok su sekvence MP/CP gena pokazale najviši
stepen identičnosti 99,49% sa izolatima iz Italije (BK011064, BK011089 i BK011101).
Dobijeni rezultati prisustva GPGV u Rasinskom okrugu, jednom od najznačajnijih u
zemlji po proizvodnji grožđa, ukazuju na potrebu primene mera kontrole sa ciljem
sprečavanja i usporavanja širenja ovog virusa koji potencijalno može ugroziti proizvodnju
vinove loze.

Morphological and pathogenic characteristics of Alternaria alternata isolates from plum (Prunus domestica L.)

AB  - During June and July 2020, numerous ‘Stanley’ plants were observed with small, brown spots on leaves in the plum orchard in locality Bačka Topola. Later on, leaf lesions became dark brown and irregular, resulting in necrosis that was followed by defoliation. Collected samples were analyzed using standard mycological procedures. Ten fungal isolates from leaves and branches were obtained from infected plums. Two isolates originating from branches (ŠG) and leaves (ŠL), were selected for further studies. The pathogenicity test was performed on five plum
cultivars: ‘Stenley’, ‘Čačanska Lepotica’, ‘Čačanska Rodna’, ‘Čačanska Najbolja’ and ‘Požegača’. Morphological characteristics of two selected isolates were studied on three nutrient media: cornmeal agar (CMA), carnation leaf agar (CLA) and potato dextrose agar (PDA). Both tested isolates formed airy, dark olive-green colonies on PDA medium. The colonies were light olive-green in all tested isolates on CMA. On CLA, all studied isolates formed olive-green substrate mycelium. Conidia size for tested isolate ŠG on PDA medium ranged from 19.20−46.24 × 7.95−12.88 μm (mean 25.85 × 10.42 μm), and for isolate ŠL from 18.17−36.16 × 8.09−12.59 μm, (mean 24.98 × 11.10 μm). Both studied isolates on all tested plant organs (leaf, branch and fruit) in all plum cultivars caused symptoms typical for fungi of the genus Alternaria, the appearance of dark brown necrotic lesions on leaves, branches and fruits. Based on preliminary research of morphological characteristics and pathogenic tests, analyzed isolates were identified as belonging to the species Alternaria alternata.

Conidia size for tested isolate ŠG on PDA medium ranged from 19.20−46.24 × 7.95−12.88 μm (mean 25.85 × 10.42 μm), and for isolate ŠL from 18.17−36.16 × 8.09−12.59 μm, (mean 24.98 × 11.10 μm). Both studied isolates on all tested plant organs (leaf, branch and fruit) in all plum cultivars caused symptoms typical for fungi of the genus Alternaria, the appearance of dark brown necrotic lesions on leaves, branches and fruits. Based on preliminary research of morphological characteristics and pathogenic tests, analyzed isolates were identified as belonging to the species Alternaria alternata.",

AB  - Orah je rod biljaka iz porodice Juglandaceae. Na našim prostorima uglavnom se sreće vrsta Juglans regia L. Orah je samonikla biljka, dostiže visinu i do 25 metara. Do sada je rasprostranjenost oraha u Srbiji više bila posledica povoljnih prirodnih uslova nego organizovanog uticaja nauke. Orahovo drvo ima široku upotrebu u drvnoj industriji zbog svoje boje, dobre izdržljivosti i kvaliteta. Plod oraha ima široku upotrebu u prehrambenoj industriji. Lišće oraha može se koristiti za proizvodnju vina. Zelena opna ploda za proizvodnju likera – orahovače. Orahova smola je jestiva i puna eterničnih ulja. Lišće i kora oraha koriste se često kao laksativ. A pored toga koriste se i u tretmanima kože. Uzorci su sakupljani tokom jula 2019. godine u lokalitetu Dragobraća, Kragujevac.
Sakupljeni uzorci biljaka oraha su analizirani u fitopatološkoj laboratoriji Instituta za voćarstvo u Čačku. Iz zaraženih biljaka oraha (listova i grana), standardnim mikološkim postupcima, dobijeno je više izolata gljive, od kojih su za dalja proučavanja odabrana četiri izolata O1S, O2S poreklom sa grana i LO1, LO2 poreklom sa lista, koji su podvrgnuti testovima patogenosti korišćenjem dve različite metode, sa povređivanjem i bez povređivanja.
Morfološke odlike četiri odabrana izolata Alternaria spp. proučavane su na tri hranljive podloge: podloga od kukuruznog brašna (CMA), podloga od karanfila (CLA) i krompir dekstrozna podloga (PDA). Na KDA podlozi svi testirani izolati formirali su vazdušasto tamno maslinasto zelene
kolonije. Na podlozi od kukurunog brašna (CMA) kolonije su bile svetlo maslinasto zelene kod svih testiranih izolata. Na podlozi od karanfila (CLA) svi proučavani izolati formiraju supstratnu miceliju maslinasto zelene boje. Veličina konidija za sva četiri testirana izolatabila je 15,68-53,25 x 7,85-18,59 µm u proseku 36,01 x 14,20 µm. Svi prоučаvаni izоlаti nа tеstirаnim biljnim delovima (list i plod) oraha izаzvаli su simptоmе tipičnе zа glјivе iz rоdа Alternaria, tо јеst pојаvu tаmnо brаоn nеkrоtičnih lеziја nа listovima i plodovima. Na osnovu preliminarnih istraživanja patogenih i morfoloških karakteristika utvrđeno je da ispitivani izolati O1S, O2S poreklom sa grana i LO1, LO2 poreklom sa lista pripadaju gljivama iz roda Alternaria. U toku je molekularna identifikacija i karakterizacija ispitivanih izolata.

AB  - Myrtus communis L., Myrtaceae, known as true myrtle, is a widely distributed evergreen shrub native
to Mediterranean regions. This medicinal plant, used worldwide, possess a broad spectrum of
phytochemical, pharmacological and therapeutic effects, mostly due to a large number of up to now
detected, or isolated, essential oil components, considered the main biologically active ones.
Multifarious secondary metabolite content, dependent on a geographic region, season of harvest and
the length of distillation, depicts the variability of the essential oil composition obtained in general from
its leaves, branches, fruits and flowers. Herein, we present the results of meticulous analyses of the
essential oil (2.2%, w/w) constituents obtained from M. communis leaves, collected during the summer
period from the coastal regions of peninsula Luštica, Montenegro. Detailed GC-MS analyses enabled
the identification of 66 constituents, among which 1,8-cineole (28.4%), linalool (18.4%), α-pinene
(16.6%), geranyl acetate (6.6%), α-terpineol (6.3%) and linalyl acetate (4.2%) were the major ones.
Together with the secondary metabolite profile, determination of the Montenegro true myrtle essential
oil agricultural plant protection potential is also estimated, by assessing mycelia growth of
Colletotrichum acutatum J.H. Simmonds C.A.2 isolates, causative of strawberry antrachnose, in vitro.

Identification of mycopopulation on American highbush blueberry in Serbia

AB  - In recent decades, the American highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) has gained an
increasingly important place in the fruit production of several countries around the world,
especially in the highly developed ones. Also, there is a growing interest of berry fruit producers
from Serbia in growing highbush blueberry plantations. Currently, in Serbia, highbush
blueberries are grown on an area of about 2,500 ha with a tendency to increase production.
Blueberries are attacked by numerous diseases that can cause greater economic damage, and in
exceptional cases lead to the decline of entire orchards. There have been no systematic studies of
blueberry mycopopulation in Serbia so far. In this study, we present the results of preliminary
research on the mycopopulation of blueberries originating from Serbia. Samples were collected
in the period June-August 2020. A total of 18 samples from five sites were analyzed (Ivanjica 3,
Čačak 3, Sopot 3, Bačka Topola 6 and Zlatibor 3). The developed mycelium was placed on a
new PDA medium and, after the initial growth, the top part of the mycelium was placed again on
PDA. Microscopic examination was performed using an Olympus CX31 microscope.
Morphological identification of fungi by genus was performed using standard keys. A total of
350 plant parts were examined from which 8 genera of fungi were isolated: Fusarium,
Phomopsis (Diaporthe), Alternaria, Epicoccum, Penicillium, Ulocladium, Trichoderma and
Pestalotiopsis. Macroscopic symptoms of infection were clearly visible on the plants from which
the fungi were isolated. Given the growing importance of blueberries as a berry fruit species, the
aim of this study is to determine fungi, potential pathogens of blueberries, in order to better
understand the problems (plant dieback, yield reduction, etc.) that arise as a result of fungal
presence on blueberries.

AB  - In an in vitro experiment, the morphological characteristics of three Eutypa lata isolates (EL129,
EL153 and EL199), previously determined at the molecular level, and two reference isolates
BX1.10 and 8F obtained from the Institute National de la Recherche Agronomique, INRA,
France were observed. The following morphological features of the studied isolates were studied
on the nutrient medium of potato dextrose agar (PDA): macroscopic (appearance, color and
zoning of the front and back of the culture) and microscopic (vegetative organs of mycelium,
reproductive organs of anamorphs - conidia, pycnidia, conidiophores and reproductive organs of
teleomorphs - perithecium, ascus with ascospore). On potato dextrose medium (PDA) 24 h after
placing, the studied E. lata isolates formed at the beginning a white mycelium. After 10 days, the
mycelium had a cottony appearance, white color with a weak air growth. The entire colony
developed evenly and had a fine diffuse edge. After 30 days, the face of the colony was white
with a thick cotton aerial mycelium and a pale yellow conidial mass, which was excreted from
the pycnidia. The studied E. lata isolates formed pycnidia, which were formed in culture. The
pycnidia of the studied E. lata isolates were spherical or irregular in shape, from dark brown to
black in color. The dimensions of the pycnidia were from 0.5 to 1 mm. Conidial mass was a
cream to pale orange color on a PDA base. All studied isolates formed conidia in culture. None
of the studied E. lata isolates, originating from the stem and branches of the grapevine from
Serbia, as well as the control isolates, formed perithecia in culture.

AB  - In autumn 2018, daffodil (narcissus) plants with basal bulb rot were noticed in a plantation in locality Jasika, Serbia. Morphological characterization identified Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. narcissi as the causal agent of bulb rot in daffodil. Three selected isolates were tested for their ability to produce symptoms on daffodil bulbs. Two weeks after artificial inoculation typical symptoms of basal rot developed on inoculated bulbs from which the pathogen was re-isolated fulfilling Koch's postulates. To further identify the pathogen, a molecular characterization with sequence and phylogenetic analysis of ITS and TEF1 genomic regions was performed. Molecular characterization confirmed the obtained results in morphological identification. The detection of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. narcissi, a causal agent of basal rot on daffodil in Serbia, is the first report of this pathogen in the country.

AB  - Leska (Corylus avellana L.) je ekonomski veoma značajna voćna vrsta koja se gaji u velikom broju zemalja. Najveći svetski proizvođač i izvoznik plodova lešnika je Turska. U Srbiji se leska, u odnosu na druge vrste voćaka, gaji na značajno manjim površinama. U poslednjoj deceniji leska sve više dobija na značaju i prisutan je trend rasta površina pod ovom kulturom. Leska je domaćin brojnih patogena i štetočina koji mogu da izazovu značajne ekonomske štete u zasadima. U Srbiji do danas nije bilo sveobuhvatnih istraživanja prouzrokovača bolesti leske i cilj našeg rada je bio determinacija uzročnika nekih od gljivičnih bolesti. U periodu od 2017. do 2020. godine sa većeg broja plantaža u Srbiji prikupljeni su uzorci listova i grana leske sa simptomima nekrotične pegavosti. Iz sakupljenih uzoraka izolovan je veliki broj izolata gljive za dalju determinaciju. Na osnovu morfoloških i patogenih osobina izdvojenih izolata utvrđeno je prisustvo fitopatogenih gljiva iz roda Pestalotiopsis.
AB  - Hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.) is an economically very important fruit species cultivated in many countries. The world's largest producer and exporter of hazelnuts is Turkey. In Serbia, compared to other types of fruit, hazelnuts are grown on significantly smaller areas. In the last decade, hazelnut has become more interesting for the producers and there is a growing trend of increase of areas under this crop. Hazelnut is the host of numerous pathogens and pests that can cause significant economic damage in orchards. To date, there has been no comprehensive research on the causes of hazelnut diseases in Serbia, and the goal of our work was to determine the causes of some fungal diseases. In the period from 2017 to 2020, samples of hazelnut leaves and branches with symptoms of necrotic spotting were collected from a large number of plantations in Serbia. A large number of isolates were isolated from the collected samples for further determination. Based on the morphological and pathogenic properties of the isolates, the presence of phytopathogenic fungi from the genus Pestalotiopsis was determined.

AB  - During June and July 2020, numerous 'Stanley' plants were observed with small, brown spots on leaves in the plum orchard in locality Bačka Topola. Later on, leaf lesions became dark brown and irregular, resulting in necrosis that was followed by defoliation. Collected samples were analyzed using standard mycological procedures. Ten fungal isolates from leaves and branches were obtained from infected plums. Two isolates originating from branches (ŠG) and leaves (ŠL), were selected for further studies. The pathogenicity test was performed on five plum cultivars: 'Stanley', 'Čačanska Lepotica', 'Čačanska Rodna', 'Čačanska Najbolja' and 'Požegača'. Morphological characteristics of two selected isolates were studied on three nutrient media: cornmeal agar (CMA), carnation leaf agar (CLA) and potato dextrose agar (PDA). Both tested isolates formed airy, dark olive-green colonies on PDA medium. The colonies were light olive-green in all tested isolates on CMA. On CLA, all studied isolates formed olive-green substrate mycelium. Conidia size for tested isolate ŠG on PDA medium ranged from 19.20 to 46.24×7.95-12.88 μm (mean 25.85×10.42 μm), and for isolate ŠL from 18.17 to 36.16×8.09-12.59 μm, (mean 24.98×11.10 μm). Both studied isolates on all tested plant organs (leaf, branch and fruit) in all plum cultivars caused symptoms typical for fungi of the genus Alternaria, the appearance of dark brown necrotic lesions on leaves, branches and fruits. Based on preliminary research of morphological characteristics and pathogenic tests, analyzed isolates were identified as belonging to the species Alternaria alternata.
